Accounting & Bookkeeping

Organised records and year-end accounts, so you always know where the business stands — not just once a year, but month to month.

The short version

What this actually means

Bookkeeping is the foundation everything else sits on. Tax planning, forecasting, funding applications, even a clean sale of the business years from now — all of it depends on records that are accurate and up to date.

We keep those records for you, reconcile them properly, and turn them into accounts that satisfy Companies House and HMRC. Just as importantly, we turn them into a short monthly summary that tells you what actually changed and why.

If your books are currently a shoebox, a spreadsheet, or a software subscription nobody has opened in eight months, that is a normal place to start. We have tidied up worse.

Included

What you get

  • Day-to-day bookkeeping and bank reconciliation
  • Annual accounts prepared and filed with Companies House
  • Corporation tax computations and the CT600 return
  • Self assessment returns for directors and sole traders
  • VAT registration and quarterly returns where you are registered

Right fit?

Who this is for

  • Limited companies that need statutory accounts and a corporation tax return each year
  • Sole traders and partnerships who want the bookkeeping off their desk
  • Landlords and property investors tracking income across multiple properties
  • Businesses switching accountants — we handle the handover, including chasing your previous firm for records
  • Anyone behind on filing. Late is fixable. It gets more expensive the longer it waits, so it is worth a conversation now

Questions

Common questions

Do I have to change accounting software?
No. We work with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage, and we are happy to keep using whatever you already have. We will only suggest moving if your current setup is costing you money or is not Making Tax Digital compliant.
How quickly can you take over from my current accountant?
Usually two to three weeks. We write to them for professional clearance and your records — that is a standard, routine process, and you do not need to have an awkward conversation with them yourself.
My records are a mess. Is that a problem?
It is very common and it is fixable. We will quote separately for bringing historic records up to date so you can see that cost clearly, rather than folding it into your monthly fee.
What happens if I miss a deadline?
HMRC and Companies House both charge automatic penalties that escalate over time. If you are already late, tell us — there are reasonable-excuse routes and payment arrangements available, but they work far better before the debt is escalated.
